The crab dip that will make you wish summer was longer

The Scoop:

My sister and I were looking for somewhere to go this past weekend to take advantage of the end-of-summer weather. SUMMER, WHY MUST YOU GO?

We headed out to Middle River, Maryland to try a spot called Sunset Cove.  I may or may not have had the best crab dip ever here. *faints*

The Ambiance:

The place is one word: vibes. Sunset Cove has one of the coolest setups that I've ever seen in Maryland. It feels like you're at the beach, you pretty much are. Eating dinner by the water, under string lights, with your feet in the sand. Sounds like the beach to me.  (It's been called the Middle river version of Seacrets in Ocean City) They have regular 'sand-seating' and bar seating.

The Service:

Like I said the place is super chill and relaxing, as was the waitstaff. Our waiter took the time to answer my newbie questions and was great with refills and checking in on us. I would highly recommend this place for a night out with friends or a sunday family outing too!

The Food:

Crab Dip, Crab Dip, Crab Dip. Now listen, I'm a Baltimore girl so I know good crab when I taste it. I've have quite a few different crab dips this summer and this was hands down the best one. There was just the right amount of crab (places sometimes go skimpy on the meat) and a crazy layer of melted cheese on top. The cheese layer made it gooey and so much better. I think my favorite part is that it was in a bread bowl. Genius. So much softer, gooey and cheesier just because of the bread bowl. It was served with chips but of course you could break the bowl for dipping too.

For my entree, I ordered the Jerky Tuna Tacos. They were really good, better than I expected. The ahi tuna was medium rare,( aka perf) and was cooked in a srircha aioli with just the right amount of spice. Best part: it was also topped with a ginger wasabi sauce.  It came with fries and a mediterranean pasta. YUM. It was lit.

My sister ordered Salmon Tomatillo, which was salmon with a avocado, garlic sauce on top. It was ok, she wasn't as impressed with it as she'd hoped. But it wasn't bad at all! Perhaps more sauce would've made it better.

Rating: 5 Maryland Blue Crabs

If you're ever in Middle River/ Essex, Maryland you've gotta visit Sunset cove. At nighttime, they have a stage with live music. Vibezzzz. Plus its only a 40 mintue drive from Baltimore, not too bad!

You. Me. Lunch. started as a saying between my best friend, Khaila, and I. It's been our way of saying 'see ya later' since we were seven years old. I guess you can say I'm an actual food baby.
