Sundays are for hungover brunch + rooftops
Last weekend the girls and I took the district! Thats right, we partied all night and woke up on sunday for a nice #hangoverbrunch. It was lit. We brunched at The Pitch Tavern.
This place is beyond cute. It's perfect for brunch with friends or even your sweetie. On the first and second floor there's bar and floor seating. We decided to sit outside on the rooftop. The view wasn't too high up, but still was casual and cute. Umbrella tables + chairs made this the perfect little setup for sunday aka brunch day. The Pitch serves brunch on weekends, but also have a lunch, dinner and a bar menu! Most nights they're even open until 2 A.M.
I felt very at home here. The lady serving us was so nice and attentive. My sister, Brittany, had been there before, so when her meal came out different then what she's used to our waiter had no problem taking it back to get her a fresh plate. How nice! I was really impressed with the service overall. Homey + good vibes.
Brunch is life. It's a meal that is like no other, so I always have very high expectations for these chosen restaurants. The Pitch Tavern is definitely some place that I would go again, but I should have stepped outside of my 'Chicken & Waffle' box on this one. Nya and I ordered the Chicken and waffles, which were also plated with strawberries. The meal was tasty and flavorful but it just seemed to be dry. Maybe we got a bad batch because we had more people join our party later and their waffles were fluffier + the chicken was more tender. However, I still loved the taste of the food and the presentation as well. Brittany order shrimp + grits and boy was I jealous that I didn't ordered it too. It was rich and creamy with jumbo shrimp. The grits also had a tomato essence to them. She was hooked!
