Headshot .jpg- you me lunch and travel

Hi there.

Welcome to my blog - I’m Briona and I document my travel, food and poetry adventures from around the world. Stay for a while!

The Southern Gentleman: Atlanta, Georgia.

The Southern Gentleman: Atlanta, Georgia.

The Scoop:

There's a first time for everything. First time I went to Atlanta, first time I stayed in a super bougie hotel, first time I had collard greens at Chick Fil A. See, lots of firsts. Atlanta was a great trip and I can't wait to go back and dig a little deeper.

This trip was full of food and liquor. That's pretty much it. But that's what hungover curing brunches are for.

The Ambience:

Service was superb and all of the waiters were perfect southern gentlemen. They took they time to make us feel really comfortable and at home. We conversed about life and laughed with our waiter, David, like we'd known him forever. It was lovely. As was his face. Anyway, the place is vibes. Very clean and sleek modern look, yet classy.

The Food:

The Southern Gentleman in Atlantas premier neighborhood, Buckhead, could cure just about anything. This is the kind of food that makes you say "hmm" during the entire meal.

It was by far the best brunch that I've ever had in my life. Woah, can't believe I just said that. It's true. My sister and I were going crazy over every dish. Not to mention, our waiter was fine as hell + definitely a southern gentleman.

I ordered (way too much):

Crispy Anadama Toffee Waffles with caramelized bananas, Rum & Vanilla Syrup, Whipped Butter. This waffle had the perfect amount crunch without being overcooked. The caramelized bananas and toffee pieces on top made it sweet like dessert. I ain't mad at it.

* Pimento Cheese & Dixie Bacon Omelet with soft cooked eggs + home fried potatoes. First, off the home fries were out of this world with flavor. The omelet was super cheesy (so good I forgot I wasn't supposed to be having dairy, oops).

The bacon and sausage that came with it though!

My sister ordered:

The prime rib special with two sunny side up eggs and a horseradish waffle. I know what you're thinking. Horseradish waffle?!? It was so bomb to eat with their succulent prime rib.

Overall, I highly recommend The Southern Gentleman anytime you may be in Atlanta. It's a quick Uber ride over to Buckhead. Actually, I beg you to go and experience this place for yourself.

You. Me. Lunch. started as a saying between my best friend, Khaila, and I. It's been our way of saying 'see ya later' since we were seven years old. I guess you can say I'm an actual food baby.
