Time Travel with JORD

Traveling isn't the easiest thing in the world. In fact, it's usually stressful and a bit chaotic. On my most recent Euro trip, I caught 6 flights, 3 trains and way too many buses + subways. I love the thrill of travel but dammit was I tired of it. Some days I just hung out in my Airbnb with tea, music and conversation.
I'm not going to lie to y'all. I'm always late. Well, only to things that I feel aren't of utmost importance. oops. I'm never late to interviews, meetings or that type of thing. But I'm always late and running through airports, train stations. You name it.
So this weekend I jetted off to Washington, D.C. for a little fun in the capital city. Brunch, shopping, scouting out photo locations etc. I brought my JORD watch along for the ride.
Today I woke up super early (but clearly not early enough) to try to grab a ticket to the National Museum of African American History & Culture. I'm super bummed, because they're all gone online. Instead, we're just going to head out for the day. Brunch sounds nice right about now.
After sifting through lots of Yelp reviews, we decide to check out the infamous Busboys and Poets. Boy, oh, boy was it everything my taste buds could've dreamt of. The sweet potatoes pancakes are life changing. The wooden decor inside is giving me cozy, cabin vibes. The JORD Fieldcrest Zebrawood & Maple watch matched our brunch perfectly.
It feels super airy and light on the wrist- because of the all natural wood it's made from. I dig this feel, way better than those heavy metal watches. I like everything to be minimalistic. For the most part, I stick with neutral color clothing and all my accessories are minimal too.
I guess I'm on this new age, declutter your life, everything is black, white or olive wave. My JORD watch is the perfect non-flashy-I'm-a-tourist-rob-me watch. Perfect for traveling to off beaten places.
Brunch was amazing, but we're going to get out of here and head over to do touristy things. I only ever come to D.C. for a night out at Adams Morgan or Dupont Circle. I've never done any cultural things in the capital, so today is the day.
We made it to the monument and the national mall. Even though what's-his-name? is in office, I still feel such a strong sense of pride being here. As we we're walking, I quickly reflect on the past eight years and what they meant to me as a black woman. I'm so damn proud of the Obamas.
Can I tell y'all a secret? I usually don't wear watches, but this JORD watch though?! It's my new travel buddy! Seriously, it's so classic looking and goes with everything. It's simple, just like me.
Listen, I'm working on my time management and you should too. Maybe because the watch is so cute, I'll remember what time I'm supposed to be at the airport before my flight.
Love the JORD look? Get $25 off your very own watch. Even better, I've partnered with JORD for a contest specifically for my readers. Everyone who enters will get a $25 coupon towards a JORD watch & one lucky winner will get $100 off their watch.
Contest ends 2/26/17 11:59 PM
