Yolk: Dallas, Texas

The Scoop:

This was one of the absolute best brunches that I've had in a while. I'm officially in love with Texas. Can I move already?! 

Yolk was nothing short of the amazing reviews I read before dining. I headed here after my flight from Baltimore to Dallas. Even on short flights (2 hours), air travel tends to consume me. I needed a feel good, down home brunch and that's just what I got. Of course, it had that Texas, tex-mex twist. 

The Service:

Immediately upon walking into Yolk we were greeted and seated right away. We opted to sit outside, since it was a nice breezy day. There's plenty of seating here, both indoors and on the outdoor patio, but I can definitely see it being packed on a Sunday. The decor was simple and chic, but that food though- nothing simple about it. 

The Food:

I ordered the Chilaquiles Verde. It was was a mash up of homemade nachos (YES), the best salsa verde ever, eggs, lots of cheese and I  added some juicy steak. Threw some hot sauce on it and the flavors exploded in my mouth nicely. 

The BF ordered the corned beef eggs and hash.
It was shredded corned beef, eggs, potatoes and peppers. It was the perfect combination of flavors and the corn beef was very good- coming from me, someone who despises corned beef. 

I also was extra and ordered the pancake of the month: bananas foster. OMG. I Can't. It was so good. The pancake was topped with toasted bananas and nuts. Sheesh. I could've ate five more of those. I've never had actual bananas foster, but it tasted similar to banana pudding and that's my favorite thing ever. Oh and order the strawberry orange juice, you won't be disappointed.

 

Yolk definitely has made my top five brunches of all time list.
